You know it’s always interesting to see new businesses develop out of new trends.
Most often, new trends arrive because of one of the following:
A technological breakthrough…
A change in laws or regulations…
A new discovery (or often, a twist on an old one)…
A famous guru making claims…
Celebrity endorsement (which offers social proof and acceptance)…
Today I want to talk about one new trend which is evolving rapidly, due to a change in laws. It’s something that has the potential to change the entire dynamic of loads of different industries.
What we’re going to talk about today, is…

The legalization of pot.
What made me think of this was an article I read in the New York Times, about a place called Get High Getaways, out in Denver, Colorado. Where, as you know, recreational pot use was recently legalized.
It’s going to be interesting to see all the different kinds of businesses that pop up, which cater to either giving or enhancing the experience with getting high.
My gut tells me most of the customers for these businesses, will be people who are either new to smoking weed, or people who rarely smoked before.
I mean, think about it. Someone who’s a regular pot-smoker now would probably never consider participating in some of these things.
That would be like someone who grew up in a cold climate, going to the mall to see “fake snow,” in a warm climate. There would just be no appeal for this.
So my question is, what other kinds of businesses do you envision, as a result of the legalization of pot?
If you have any ideas or thoughts, post them below.
I’ve started the list, so you don’t have to feel funny about being the first one to post. There’s no right or wrong answers, just sharing some ideas.
Now go sell something, Craig Garber
