A great story, just in time for Easter.

Very inspiring. Keep on keeping on Casey. Your teaching us all how to shed our self-imposed limitations.

As a father myself, I can imagine how proud you must be of Casey and all of your children. What an awesome feeling watching him dash around that track knowing he’s giving his all despite what some might call “limitations.”

    Great Story!

I agree. Our only limitations are the ones we place on ourselves. And I know from experience that listening to people that say you can’t do something, or are only interested in telling you how sick all their friends/family members are who happen to have the same condition or disease that you do is a waste of time.
If I had done that, or, more importantly, if my parents had done that,(I’ve been a diabetic since the age of 3) I’m convinced I’d be in a very different place in my life. All of you are very inspiring.

Great job Casey, I used to run the mile myself and I know how hard it is. That is a pretty impressive time, I don’t think I could do that time anymore.

Hi Craig n Casey, readers n posters, I was just putting a new article together when I came across today’s e-mail and ended up in this blog thought it would fit right here …

“The world spins around an everlasting paradox when it comes to employment: you need a job to gain experience but you need experience to get a job. It doesn’t matter what your college diploma has written on it as long as someone else has done the job already. That second person will get the job. Today that’s all that matters, what you’ve already did not what you are able to do from now on” … Acronym Definition:

JOB Job Opportunities for the Blind
    JOB Job Opportunity Bulletin
    JOB Joint Operations Board
JOB Joint Oversight Board (ANSI term)
JOB JSS Operations Board (US DoD)
    JOB Junk on the Bunk
    JOB Just Off Broadway
    JOB Just Over Broke

All my best to you and your J.O.B

I really related to Casey because he reminds me of my Dad. In 1938 my father at the age of 8, contracted polio and spent the next 6 -8 years in hospitals under going surgeries and other treatments to save his life. He lived with a curvature of his spine, one lung collapsed, and walked with braces until the early 1980s at which time he started using an electric cart to get around. He married in 1959 and was married for 50 years had 5 children all of whom are productive citizens today. While it was usual in his lifetime to see someone with limitations being part of mainstream he never let his physical limitations define him. My father like Casey lived life with enthusiasm, determination and a great attitude. We all learn so much from the wisdom of seeing someone who has every reason to not try, not only try but succeed. I know Casey is a remarkable young man and will have a positive impact on everyone he touches. We can not help but be inspired to do our best with an example like your son.
